CONCEALED HANDGUN LICENSING
We are now certified as Texas Concealed Handgun License instructors by the State of Texas.  We will be offering a regular class for
those wishing to obtain the certification (or be recertified).

The law requires these minimum requirements to be eligible for a Texas CHL pursuant to Government Code 411.172:
(1) Be a legal resident of Texas for a six-month period preceding the date of application.
(2) Be at least 21 years of age (U.S. Military exception 18 years of age)..
(3) Have no felony convictions.
(4) Have not been charged a Class A or Class B misdemeanor or an offense under Penal Code Section 42.01 (Disorderly Conduct), or
of a felony under an information or indictment.
(5) not a fugitive from justice for a felony, Class A, or Class B misdemeanor.
(6) not a chemical dependent
(7) not incapable of exercising sound judgment with the respect to the proper use and storage of a handgun
(8) has not in last five years preceding the application been convicted of a Class A or Class B misdemeanor or an offense under Penal
Code Section 42.01.
(9) fully qualified under federal and state law to purchase a handgun
(10) has not been finally determined to be delinquent in making a child support payment administered or collected by the Attorney
General
(11) has not been finally determined to be delinquent in the payment of a tax or other money collected by the comptroller, the tax
collector of a political subdivision of the state, or any agency or subdivision of the state
(12) has not been finally determined to be in default on a load made under Chapter 57, Education Code
(13) is not currently restricted under a court protective order or subject to a restraining order affecting the spousal relationship, other
than a restraining order solely affecting property interests
(14) has not in the past 10 years from date of application, been adjudicated as having engaged in delinquent conduct violating a penal
law of the grade of felony
(15) has not made any material misrepresentation, or failed to disclose any material fact, in an application submitted pursuant to
Section 411.174 or in a request for application submitted pursuant to Section 411.175.

Pursuant to Government Code 411.173 you can apply for a nonresident Texas CHL if you meet the above requirements, except for
411.172(a)(1), effective 9/1/2005.  
U.S. Miltary Personnel (active/reserve/guard) 18-20 years of age can now also apply for a
Texas CHL .

To take this course you will need to pay the tuition  and provide a firearm of at least .380 caliber or higher.  If you want a semiauto
endorsement (will allow both semiauto pistol and revolver carry) you will need to bring a semiauto pistol to qualify on.  If you are
just going to get a revolver endorsement you will need to bring a revolver to qualify on.  You must provide your own factory
ammunition.  For safety purposes we do not allow reloaded or handloaded ammunition, for both your safety and the safety of others
around you at the range.  You must also provide your own eye and ear protection.

If you have extra magazines, a mag pouch, and a holster, please bring them.

This license is recognized in 22 of the 50 states.  If you are a Texas resident, the CHL is a valid exemption to the NICS
background check when purchasing a firearm.

Class includes the CHL course and notarization of all required documents.  Tution is $125.
